Via Francigena

Train&Trek

What you can do

Take the first step on the ancient road that leads from Canterbury to Rome. The Via Francigena is the historical-cultural itinerary that from all of Northern Europe led to the Eternal City and today it has been rediscovered by modern travelers who decide to retrace it. It doesn't matter where you start from, nor does it matter to be great athletes, because the path is within everyone's reach. Set off along a surprising path and follow in the footsteps of pilgrims who, even before the year 1000, crossed our peninsula on foot. They came from the British Isles, from the Kingdom of the Franks, from the most distant regions of the Empire. Make this experience yourself by retracing even a short stretch of the Via Francigena in Lombardy, discovering places full of history, art and traditions, between nature and culture.
