Trains on the Malpensa - Milano Centrale R31 line take you from Milano Centrale station to Terminal 1 of Malpensa airport in 51 minutes and from Malpensa Airport to Milano Centrale in 54 minutes.
With the Malpensa Express train you avoid the traffic and costs of parking at the airport, because it leaves you under Terminal 1, a few minutes walk from the arrivals area, which is located on the ground floor, while the departures area, the check-in area and the boarding gates are on the first floor.
Arriving at Milano Centrale, however, you are already close to all the platforms from which trains depart for any destination, with the Trenord regional lines for, for example, Chiasso, Bergamo, Verona, Alessandria, Tirano, Mantova, Tortona. From Milan Central you can also reach the rest of Italy by train, with Intercity, Frecciarossa and Italo trains, and Europe, with Eurocity.
To move around the city of Milan, on the other hand, at the Milano Centrale station there are two ATM subway lines, the green M2 and the yellow M3, as well as numerous urban and extra-urban surface vehicles and parking lots for taxis.
The Malpensa Express Malpensa - Milano Centrale R31 train also stops at the Milano Porta Garibaldi station, where you can find the regional and high-speed railway lines, from the surface station, while the suburban lines leave from the Milano Porta Garibaldi Passante station.
