The RegioExpress Laveno - Varese - Saronno - Milano line connects the town on Lake Maggiore to the Milano Cadorna station, through the line operated by FERROVIENORD, in an hour and a half of travel.
A few steps from the departure station, Laveno Mombello Lago, is the Laveno Mombello station, connected with the Laveno - Sesto Calende and Luino - Gallarate - Milano regional lines and the S30 Cadenazzo - Luino - Gallarate cross-border.
If you keep on southwards, skirting the Campo dei Fiori Regional Natural Park, you arrive in Varese Nord, then in Saronno: here it is possible to interchange with the other regional and regioexpress lines for Como Lago, Novara, the Malpensa - Cadorna and Malpensa - Milano Centrale airport lines, and the suburban S1 Saronno - Milano Passante - Lodi, S3 Saronno - Milano Bovisa - Milano Cadorna and S9 Saronno - Seregno - Milano - Albairate.
We therefore arrive in Milano, whose first station is Milano Bovisa; here you can change trains with the regional ones that go towards Asso, or the suburban ones towards Camnago and Mariano Comense or towards the Passante Ferroviario.
