The RegioExpress Porto Ceresio - Varese - Gallarate - Milano line allows you to reach Lake Lugano from Milano in 2 hours.

The line crosses the cross-border S30 and S50 at Induno Olona, while in Varese you can also change with the suburban S5. Moving on foot in less than 5 minutes, you can reach Varese Nord station, where there are connections with Laveno Mombello Lago and Milano Cadorna, via the Laveno - Varese - Saronno - Milano regioexpress line.

In Gallarate, on the other hand, you can change trains with the regioexpress Domodossola - Milano, the regional Luino - Gallarate - Milano, the suburban S5 and two cross-border lines, the S30 and the S50.

The same changes, except for the one with the S30, can be made in Busto Arsizio. Here it is also possible to reach, in a few minutes on foot, the Busto Arsizio Nord station, where the trains of the Malpensa - Milano Cadorna and Malpensa - Milano Centrale airport lines and the Novara - Saronno - Milano regional lines operate.

The trains of the RegioExpress Porto Ceresio - Varese - Gallarate - Milano line also stop at Legnano and Rho Fiera Milano, where they also cross the S6 and S11.

The RegioExpress Porto Ceresio - Varese - Gallarate - Milano line ends at the Milano Porta Garibaldi station.

Here you can find the regional and high-speed railway lines, from the surface station, while the suburban lines depart from the Milano Porta Garibaldi Passante station.

 There are also two ATM metro lines, the green line M2 and the lilac line M5, bus and tram.

The Milano Porta Garibaldi station is very close to the new area of Piazza Gae Aulenti and the Samsung District, even the Palazzo di Regione Lombardia can be reached in a few minutes on foot.

Porto Ceresio overlooks Lake Lugano, or Lake Ceresio, where it is possible to take boat trips with the Società Navigazione Lago di Lugano and other sports activities such as rowing and sailing. There is also no shortage of clubs and restaurants to relax, and cultural activities organized by the Municipality, the Pro Loco or the Library.

Also in Varese there is no shortage of monuments and attractions worthy of a visit, such as the Sacro Monte di Varese, the villas, or you can do some movement with a nice bike ride along the cycle path that surrounds Lake Varese.

In Rho Fiera Milano, thanks to an underpass, you can reach the ATM subway station, red line M1, or head towards the new international exhibition center of the city Fiera Milano. For example, the Salone del Mobile, the Bit and the MICAM, world-renowned trade fairs, are held here. Furthermore, on the other side of the station, in the area where Expo Milano was hosted in 2015, reachable by a special pedestrian crossing, the MIND District project is under construction, with a university center, a hospital and numerous other services.
