The Suburban line S11 Chiasso - Como - Milano - Rho connects the city of Milano to Switzerland, providing service in all stations. Trains depart every 30 minutes, of these, one per hour connects Milano Porta Garibaldi and Chiasso, in both directions, while the others limit the route to Carimate.

In Chiasso we can also find connections with the cross-border lines RE80 and S40, in Como San Giovanni, in addition to them, also the regional Como - Molteno - Lecco.

In Camnago you can change lines with the S4 line for Milano Cadorna, while in Seregno with the S9 line, with which it shares the route and stops up to Milano Greco Pirelli, and the Seregno - Carnate, carried out entirely by bus.

Monza station is an important hub north of Milano, in fact the S7 and S8, the regioexpress for Tirano and the regional for Bergamo, as well as the RE80 also stop there.

In Sesto San Giovanni it is possible to get off the train and enter the city with the red underground, line M1.

The trains of the S11 line begin their city journey in Milano Greco Pirelli, where it is possible to take trains to Piacenza, Stradella, Brescia.

In Milano Porta Garibaldi you can find the regional and high-speed railway lines, from the surface station, while the suburban lines depart from the Milano Porta Garibaldi Passante station.

There are also two ATM metro lines, the green line M2 and the lilac line M5, bus and tram.

Only some trains continue their journey and also stop at Milano Certosa, where the S5 and S6 lines cross, while at Rho Fiera Milano, in addition to being able to change with two regioexpress lines and two regional lines, thanks to an underpass, you can reach the station of the ATM subway, red line M1, or head towards the new international exhibition center of the city, Fiera Milano. For example, the Salone del Mobile, the Bit and the MICAM, world-renowned trade fairs, take place here. These trains end the run in Rho.

The distance between Chiasso and Milan is 51 km, the distance between Rho and Milan is 13 km

The Trenord railway service of the Suburban S11 Chiasso - Como - Milan - Rho line connects Chiasso to Rho, passing through Como San Giovanni and Milano Porta Garibaldi in approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Trains to and from Chiasso depart and arrive at Milano Porta Garibaldi. Trains to and from Rho arrive and depart from Como San Giovanni.

  • From Chiasso: first train 5:13 am; last train 10:13 pm;
  • From Milano Porta Garibaldi: first train at 5:39 am; last train 11:09 pm

The S11 line crosses the provinces of Milan and Monza and Brianza, where the STIBM integrated tariff system is in force. You need to purchase an integrated STIBM ticket only to travel between two stations, both in the STIBM area.
