How to use e-tickets on cross border lines

As part of the regional project "Electronic Ticketing," starting from October 1, 2023, transboundary tickets (Lombardy-Ticino and Lombardy-Lombardy via Ticino) in Lombardy can be purchased from:

- Trenord ticket offices 

- self-service automatic ticket machines

- in rechargeable ticket

- sales points (bars/tobacconists) - in COP format

- Trenord website and APP.

To allow inspections by Swiss transport companies, for rechargeable tickets, it is necessary to keep the paper receipt obtained at the ticket office or from the sales points, which the traveler must manually validate (with departure time and station) before boarding.
This receipt must be presented along with the rechargeable ticket to the inspection staff. For tickets purchased online, instead, it is sufficient to show the digital ticket to the inspection staff.
In the event of departure from a station without sales channels, with a closed ticket office/sales point, or equipped only with an automatic ticket machine, it is possible to request on-board issuance without surcharge by promptly approaching the inspection staff for regularization.
