La “torre di controllo” della manutenzione

March 30th, 2022 - There is a woman in the Trenord maintenance “control tower”: Nelly Minardi is the head of the Planning and Availability Department of fleet , which schedules entry into service of new trains and retirement of older trains. A plan already defined until 2026.

It is always this team that plans the returns to the depot for the maintenance of the more than 400 trains in the Trenord fleet, because like cars, trains also need to undergo periodic inspections. The Planning Structure deals with the direction of these returns - even defining the track of the depot that each train must occupy - which must be impeccable, to ensure both compliance with maintenance plans and the regularity of the daily train service.
