Trains for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics
Trenord is the official Lombardia Mobility Partner of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
After the Winter Olympic Games that saw 1.3 million more travellers on trains in Lombardia, the Winter Paralympic Games are expected to bring thousands of spectators to the heart of our region from 6 to 15 March 2026.
Trenord trains serve the city of Milano, the connection with Milano Malpensa International Airport and Santa Giulia Ice Hockey Arena, which will host the Para Ice Hockey competitions.
In addition, the Milano-Brescia-Verona line connects Lombardia to Veneto, a region where the competitions of the other Paralympic disciplines will be held.
Details and timetables of the enhanced routes
The suburban lines offer high-frequency connections throughout the day, across the city of Milano and with the main towns in Lombardia and beyond: Varese, Novara, Saronno, Como, Lecco, Pavia, Treviglio, Pioltello, Lodi, and Melegnano.
The suburban lines and some regional lines guarantee a direct link with Milano Rogoredo, from where you can reach the Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena, the venue for the Para Ice Hockey competitions.
In particular, the Milano Rogoredo station is reached by the following lines:

For those reaching Lombardia by plane on the occasion of the Paralympic Games, the Malpensa Express lines guarantee quick and frequent connections between Milano Malpensa Airport (Terminals 1 and 2) and the heart of Milano.
The RE51 Milano Centrale-Malpensa-Gallarate and RE54 Milano Cadorna-Malpensa lines depart every 15 minutes between Milano and the Airport, from 4 in the morning to 1 at night.
The RE6 Milano-Brescia-Verona line is the strategic link to attend the major events in Veneto, starting with the opening ceremony to be held at the Arena di Verona on 6 March.
The train runs once every hour in each direction from 6.00 to 22.00, Monday to Friday. More trains are scheduled on Saturdays and public holidays.
From Verona to Milano
- First train departure: 5:43.
- Last train departure: 21:43.
From Milano to Verona
- First train departure: 6:25.
- Last train departure: 22:25.
- Last train departure on Fridays and Saturdays: 23:25.
The RE8 Milan–Tirano line connects Milano Centrale to Valtellina.
From 6 to 22 February, a train will run every 30 minutes in each direction between 4.00 and 3.00.
All trains stop in Monza, Lecco, Bellano, Colico, Morbegno, Sondrio, Tresenda.
One train per hour stops in Abbadia Lariana, Mandello, Lierna, Varenna, and Ponte in Valtellina.

- Last train: Tirano 00.31 – Milano Centrale 3.20 (stops at Tresenda-Aprica-Teglio, Ponte in Valtellina, Sondrio, San Pietro Berbenno, Morbegno, Colico, Piona, Dorio, Dervio, Bellano, Varenna, Fiumelatte, Lierna, Olcio, Mandello del Lario, Abbadia Lariana, Lecco, Monza)
During the Olympic period, the R12 Sondrio–Tirano and R13 Lecco–Colico–Sondrio lines will be replaced by buses; the service will be organised to connect with the trains in Bellano and Morbegno.

Rail and integrated tickets
To ensure a comfortable and personalised travel experience, there are various types of tickets on offer:
- One-way rail tickets: one-way travel, valid on the indicated route.
- Digital multi-journey rail tickets (10-journey carnets): bidirectional travel; at the time of use, it is necessary to indicate the direction of travel for each ticket by choosing the destination of the journey.
Available online only, they allow you to purchase 10 tickets for the price of 9.
- Io Viaggio Ovunque in Lombardia daily and multi-day tickets (1–2–3–7 days): integrated, valid for 1, 2, 3 or 7 days for travel on all public transport throughout the region.7-day IVOL tickets can only be purchased online.
- STIBM (Integrated Tariff System of the Milano and Monza Brianza Mobility Catchment Area) integrated tickets: for people who need to travel between the municipalities of the Metropolitan City of Milan or the Provinces of Milan and Monza and Brianza.
- Malpensa tickets at the airport rate: one-way travel, valid on the indicated route.
- Same-day Malpensa return tickets: allow you to make a trip between Milan and Malpensa T1 or T2 and a return trip on the chosen day.
- Digital 30-day Malpensa return tickets: allow you to make a trip between Milan and Malpensa T1 or T2 and a return trip within 30 days; available at a discounted rate compared to purchasing two one-way tickets. Available for purchase online only.

Advantages and travel tickets for passengers with reduced mobility
There are different types of fare reductions available for passengers with disabilities and their carers.
- European Disability Card: holders of European Disability Card bearing the letter "A" are entitled to free travel for one accompanying person. A single full-fare ticket, valid for both, can be purchased at physical ticket offices and directly on the Trenitalia website. Cardholders must present the Card and a form of identification during ticket checks.
- Trenitalia Blue Card: the Blue Card is reserved for holders of accompanying or communication allowances residing in Italy and lets the holder travel with one accompanying person on a single full-fare ticket. The ticket can be purchased either at the ticket office or online on the Trenitalia website. The concession is valid for all journeys on regional rail routes.
- Any person whose mobility is reduced due to physical or cognitive disability, or for any other reason, may purchase, modify and validate the ticket on board the train, for themselves and the person accompanying them, without any surcharge and without the obligation to present themselves to the ticket inspectors.

Assistance services for passengers with reduced mobility
For assistance to passengers with reduced mobility, the dedicated Trenord service is available. On the RFI network, this service works in close coordination with the ‘Sala Blu’ (Blue Room) to guarantee the necessary support at all stages along the route.

No, there are no tickets with dedicated Olympic rates. For travellers heading to the Olympic venues, daily and multi-day tickets and integrated rail tickets are available.
