For the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Trenord will enhance its service to ensure widespread and frequent connections to the Olympic venues and the main event areas.

From February 5 to 22, 2026, several additional trains, extended schedules, and increased frequencies will be available to facilitate travel for travelers, athletes, and visitors at all time slots.

Suburban lines from Milano Porta Garibaldi, Milano Cadorna, and Milano Rogoredo offer high-frequency connections to the main destinations throughout the day.

From 5 to 22 February, the suburban train service will be extended until 2.00 AM; the service on the Milan Metro lines will also be increased to ensure connections.

From Milano Porta Garibaldi

  • Last train to Lodi (S1 line): 2.14 AM

The Milano Cadorna–Malpensa T1-T2 and Milano Centrale–Malpensa T1-T2 lines connect the main stations in the city of Milan to the two terminals at Malpensa Airport. The trains stop at Milano Porta Garibaldi, Milano Bovisa, Saronno, Busto Arsizio.

The Milano Cadorna–Malpensa line runs every 30 minutes in each direction between Milano Cadorna and Malpensa, from 4.00 AM to midnight.

From Malpensa to Milano Cadorna

  • First train departure: 5.23 AM
  • Last train departure: 00.23 AM

From Milano Cadorna to Malpensa

  • First train departure: 4.27 AM
  • Last train departure: 11.27 PM

The Milano Centrale–Malpensa line runs every 30 minutes in each direction between 5.00 AM and midnight. For Milano Cortina 2026, the service will be enhanced in two phases:

  • on the nights between 23/24 January and 4/5 February, and on the night of 23/24 February, the service will be extended in the evening hours until 1.30 AM.
  • from 5 to 23 February, the service hours will be extended, and it will be active from 4.00 AM to 3.00 AM.

    • From Milano Centrale to Malpensa
      • First train departure: 4.55 AM
      • Last train departure: 2.25 AM

The RE6 Milan–Brescia–Verona line connects Milan, Brescia, and Verona, running along the shores of Lake Garda.

The train runs once every hour in each direction from 6.00 AM to 10.00 PM, Monday to Friday. On Saturdays and holidays, the offer is enhanced with more trips.

From Verona to Milan

  • First train departure: 5.43 AM
  • Last train departure: 9.43 PM

From Milan to Verona

  • First train departure: 6.25 AM
  • Last train departure: 10.25 PM

The RE8 Milan–Tirano line connects Milano Centrale to Valtellina.

From 6 to 22 February, a train will run every 30 minutes in each direction between 4.00 AM and 3.00 AM.

All trains stop in Monza, Lecco, Bellano, Colico, Morbegno, Sondrio, Tresenda.

One train per hour stops in Abbadia Lariana, Mandello, Lierna, Varenna, and Ponte in Valtellina.

Milan–Tirano

  • First train: Milano Centrale 4.20 AM– Tirano 6.54 AM

Tirano–Milan

  • Last train: Tirano 00.31 AM– Milan 3.30 AM

During the Olympic period, the R12 Sondrio–Tirano and R13 Lecco–Colico–Sondrio lines will be replaced by buses; however, the service will be organised to connect with the trains in Bellano and Morbegno.

To ensure all Olympic spectators enjoy a comfortable and personalised travel experience, Trenord offers various types of tickets:

  • One-way tickets: one-way travel, valid on the indicated route.
  • Digital 10-journey multi-journey carnets*: bidirectional travel; at the time of use, it is necessary to indicate the direction of travel for each ticket by choosing the destination of the journey.

Available for purchase online only, at a discounted rate compared to purchasing 10 one-way tickets.

  • Io Viaggio Ovunque in Lombardia multi-day tickets (1–2–3–7 days): integrated, valid for 1, 2, 3 or 7 days for travel on all public transport. 7-day IVOL tickets* can only be purchased online.
  • 30-day Malpensa return ticket*: allows you to make a one-way trip between Milan and Malpensa T1 or T2 and a return trip within 30 days; available at a discounted rate compared to purchasing two one-way tickets. Available for purchase online only.
  • Malpensa Family: fixed-rate ticket for groups of 3 or 4 travellers, including at least one adult; available at a discounted rate compared to purchasing individual tickets.
  • STIBM (Integrated Tariff System of the Milano and Monza Brianza Mobility Catchment Area) integrated tickets: for people who need to travel between the municipalities of the Metropolitan City of Milan or the Provinces of Milan and Monza and Brianza.

Yes. The stations served by Trenord involved in the event are all accessible and supported by assistance services such as the RFI Blue Room and shuttles with ramps. See the "Accessibility" section for detailed information.

Yes. In addition to single tickets, there will be daily, weekly, carnet travel, and IVOL passes available. A special pass for Olympic spectators is coming soon. Buy in advance to guarantee the best price.

Yes. Throughout the Games, Trenord will be offering an enhanced service, with trains running until 2:00 a.m. on the main routes. The first train from Milan to Tirano will depart at 4:20 a.m., and the last from Tirano to Milan will depart at 12:45 a.m.

All venues in Lombardy are connected to the main Trenord stations: Milano Centrale, Rogoredo, Cadorna, Rho Fiera, and Tirano. From there, you can use the subway, tram, or dedicated shuttles to reach each competition venue. See the "How to reach the venues" section for full details.
