Trains for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics

For the occasion, Trenord is enhancing its services to ensure extensive and frequent connections to the Olympic venues and the main areas tied to the events.
From 6 to 22 February 2026, even more trains will run in Lombardy, bringing the total number of connections to 2,500 per day; service hours will be extended to accommodate travellers, visitors, and staff throughout the day.

Details and timetables of the enhanced routes
Suburban lines from Milano Porta Garibaldi, Milano Cadorna, and Milano Rogoredo offer high-frequency connections to the main destinations throughout the day.
From 5 to 22 February, the suburban train service will be extended until 2.00 and beyond; the service on the Milan Metro lines will also be extended to ensure connections.

The RE51 Milano Centrale–Malpensa T1-T2 and RE54 Milano Cadorna–Malpensa T1-T2 lines connect the main stations in the city of Milan to the two terminals at Malpensa Airport. The trains stop at Milano Porta Garibaldi, Milano Bovisa, Saronno, Busto Arsizio.
From 23 January, the RE51 Milano Centrale–Malpensa line will be extended to Gallarate. From 23 January to 24 February 2026, the service hours on the connection will be extended: a train will run every 30 minutes from early morning until late at night.
From 23 January to 4 February and from 23 to 24 February, the service will be active during the following time slots:

The RE6 Milan–Brescia–Verona line connects Milan, Brescia, and Verona, running along the shores of Lake Garda.
The train runs once every hour in each direction from 6.00 to 22.00, Monday to Friday. More trains are scheduled on Saturdays and holidays.

The RE8 Milan–Tirano line connects Milano Centrale to Valtellina.
From 6 to 22 February, a train will run every 30 minutes in each direction between 4.00 and 3.00.
All trains stop in Monza, Lecco, Bellano, Colico, Morbegno, Sondrio, Tresenda.
One train per hour stops in Abbadia Lariana, Mandello, Lierna, Varenna, and Ponte in Valtellina.
Milan–Tirano

- Last train: Tirano 00.31 – Milano Centrale 3.20 (stops at Tresenda-Aprica-Teglio, Ponte in Valtellina, Sondrio, San Pietro Berbenno, Morbegno, Colico, Piona, Dorio, Dervio, Bellano, Varenna, Fiumelatte, Lierna, Olcio, Mandello del Lario, Abbadia Lariana, Lecco, Monza)
During the Olympic period, the R12 Sondrio–Tirano and R13 Lecco–Colico–Sondrio lines will be replaced by buses; the service will be organised to connect with the trains in Bellano and Morbegno.

To ensure a comfortable and personalised travel experience, there are various types of tickets on offer:
- One-way rail tickets: one-way travel, valid on the indicated route.
- Digital multi-journey rail tickets (10-journey carnets): bidirectional travel; at the time of use, it is necessary to indicate the direction of travel for each ticket by choosing the destination of the journey.

No, there are no tickets with dedicated Olympic rates. For travellers heading to the Olympic venues, daily and multi-day tickets and integrated rail tickets are available.
Yes. Throughout the Games, Trenord will be offering an enhanced service, with trains running until 2:00 a.m. on the main routes. The first train from Milan to Tirano will depart at 4:20 a.m., and the last from Tirano to Milan will depart at 12:45 a.m.
