The Suburban S1 Saronno - Milano Passante - Lodi line serves, with a connection every 30 minutes, in both directions, all the stations between Saronno and Lodi, including those where the trains of the regional and regioexpress lines do not stop.

In Saronno it is possible to change to trains to Varese or Laveno, Novara, Como and to the Malpensa Express for Terminals 1 and 2 of Milan Malpensa airport.

The trains of the Suburban S1 Saronno - Milano Passante - Lodi line depart from the Saronno log tracks, run along the entire line, stopping at all the stations, and, once in Milano Bovisa, enter the Passante Ferroviario, where you can make an interchange with other suburban lines. In Milano Rogoredo the line exits the Passante Ferroviario. Here you can find matches with numerous lines: regional, regioexpress and suburban. In addition to Trenord services, some high-speed and long-distance trains also stop in Milano Rogoredo.

In the Milano Rogoredo station there is the yellow line M3 of the underground and various surface services, both urban and extra-urban. Milano Rogoredo station is not far from the Sky Italia headquarters and the Santa Giulia district.

From Milano Rogoredo they make all the stops up to Lodi, where it will be possible to change with the lines for Piacenza and Mantova.

The journey from Saronno to Milano Bovisa takes about 25 minutes, the crossing of the Passante Ferroviario, from Milano Bovisa to Milano Rogoredo takes almost half an hour, as does the journey from Lodi to Milano Rogoredo.

The infrastructure, i.e. the station buildings, the tracks, the exchanges, the level crossings and the overhead line that powers the trains, of the Suburban S1 Saronno - Milano Passante - Lodi line is under mixed management: from Saronno to Milano Bovisa is managed by the company FERROVIENORD, while in the Passante Ferroviario and from Milan Rogoredo to Lodi, it is managed by the company RFI. Each infrastructure manager uses its own numbering to identify all trains, for this reason the S1 trains indicated with two different numbers.

How long is the trip from Saronno to Lodi?

The distance between Saronno and Lodi is 56 km.

The Trenord railway service of the Suburban S1 Saronno - Milano Passante - Lodi line connects Saronno to Lodi in approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Trains stop at all stations.

  • From Saronno: first train 6:08 am; last train 21:08;
  • From Lodi: first train at 5:53 am; last train 20:23, then a train every 30 minutes ending in Milano Bovisa, until 22:53

How much does the Saronno-Lodi ticket cost?

From Saronno to Lodi the 2nd class price for a Trenord ticket is 5.50€.

Line S1 crosses the provinces of Milan and Monza and Brianza, where the STIBM integrated tariff system is in force.You need to purchase an integrated STIBM ticket only to travel between two stations, both in the STIBM area.
