Brescia and the Pinacoteca Tosio Martinengo

Completely renovated in 2018, the Pinacoteca hosts a precious and select art collection in the elegant Palazzo Martinengo da Barco. The exhibition itinerary begins in the fourteenth century and combines the paintings with wonderful objects of decorative art. Through testimonies of absolute fame such as the Angel and the Redeemer by Raphael and the Adoration of the Shepherds by Lorenzo Lotto, we arrive at the heart of the collection, consisting of Brescian Renaissance painting with Savoldo, Romanino and Moretto. Here a peculiar attention to reality is manifested, which then reaches up to the very human season of the "pitocchi" by Giacomo Ceruti. The journey ends with the nineteenth century of Canova and Hayez.
