THE INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY SPACE IS PART OF TRENORD'S COMMUNITY PROGRAMME AND HOSTS A WORKSHOP FOR SCHOOLS DEDICATED TO THE TOPIC OF MOBILITY
The journey towards the future is sustainable: Trenord has renewed its partnership with "STEP FuturAbility District", the innovative technological space in Milan offering an immersive multimedia pathway that allows visitors to discover the ongoing digital revolution, to measure how prepared they are for the future, and to become trailblazers.
The partnership between Trenord and the innovation hub is based on the shared goal of putting environmental and social sustainability at the heart of future planning, in terms of both technological development and everyday behaviours, such as selecting collective means of transport to get around.
In line with this objective, STEP has joined Community, Trenord's new loyalty programme that rewards people who choose the train over the car, significantly reducing CO₂ emissions into the atmosphere. By joining Community, Trenord customers can earn points by purchasing train tickets to access an extensive catalogue of rewards to redeem. And one of the prizes is a discount coupon to visit STEP!

STEP offers a personal and interactive experience in which visitors are guided on an engaging journey through dynamic installations, immersive spaces and multimedia walls on themes relating to our digital future. The itinerary is divided into stages and lasts 80 minutes. Using their smartphones, visitors can interact with the surrounding environment in real time and discover new scenarios made possible by new technologies, from artificial intelligence to the Internet of Things, and from cloud computing to 5G.
During the year, STEP is also offering a rich programme of workshops, scientific/cultural conferences, and Sunday workshops for families, provided free of charge.
STEP is particularly devoted to the world of school. In addition to the pathway, the programme includes workshops with cross-curricular and multidisciplinary educational content, encouraging students to look to the future and promoting digital culture and skills. In line with this vision, the partnership between Trenord and STEP led to creation of the "MY MOBILITY FOR THE FUTURE" educational workshop, aimed at middle and high schools. This innovative project aims to inspire students to creatively design the mobility of the future in the interactive and engaging setting of a virtual escape room. Based on the principles of edutainment and the use of new technologies, this activity is always rooted in sustainability, combining learning with environmental awareness.
The technology space is located at 1 Piazza Adriano Olivetti, in one of the most innovative neighbourhoods in the Milan metropolitan area, and can be reached on foot in about 10 minutes from the MILANO PORTA ROMANA railway station. STEP is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:00 to 19:00.
