Ricaricami: the rechargeable ticket for travelling throughout Lombardy

Travelling is easier and more sustainable with Ricaricami, the rechargeable ticket that allows you to travel on trains, the metro, trams, and buses in Lombardy, all on the same card.

Time to get off the train? Don't throw away your ticket! Trenord tickets purchased from ticket offices, authorised retailers, and self-service machines are rechargeable and can be used not only on trains, but also on other public transport in Lombardy.

Once your trip is over, you can keep your rechargeable ticket and reuse it to purchase a new journey, whether you are travelling by train, metro, or bus with other transport companies.

Purchasing and using Ricaricami on Trenord services

The Ricaricami service is free and included when you purchase a ticket from Trenord's sales network: ticket offices, self-service machines, and authorised retailers.

You can purchase all types of tickets on sale using your Ricaricami card: train, Malpensa Express, cross-border, STIBM integrated, Io Viaggio Ovunque in Lombardia, and Gite in Treno tickets.

When purchasing, you must indicate the day you intend to use the ticket and your exact itinerary.

Ricaricami tickets must still be validated before departure at the turnstiles or validators at the stations.

Changing travel date via the Trenord sales network

If your plans change, you can change the date of use at ticket offices, self-service machines, or via the Trenord website and app by 23.59 on the day before your scheduled travel date.

How to check the ticket loaded on the Ricaricami card via the Trenord sales network

You can check the ticket loaded on your rechargeable ticket at any time by asking the Trenord staff at the ticket office.

You can also check it yourself by simply holding the rechargeable ticket against the self-service machines. Alternatively, on the latest-generation validators, simply press the “i” (info) button and then place the ticket against the device, in the area below the screen. 

How to use Ricaricami on other means of transport

Ricaricami is a single ticket for all of Lombardy: simply provide the operator of any transport company with your card at the time of purchase to load your ticket. During this initial phase of the integration project, you also need to keep your recharge receipt, as not all transport operators are currently able to check Ricaricami tickets.
