The Season of the Piccolo Teatro di Milano in 2023 continues! For the first time director of a Piccolo production, Mario Martone chooses Romeo and Juliet, the tragedy of the Veronese lovers, written by William Shakespeare between 1594 and 1596 and set in the 1500s, in the heart of the Italian Renaissance.?The play focuses on love, as sudden and intense as it can be between two teenagers, made even stronger by adversity, eager only to break down any obstacle standing in its way. Martone chooses an ensemble of young actors who are joined by a number of stage professionals. .
