I Macchiaioli e l’invenzione del plein air tra Francia e Italia
From 18 February to 21 May 2023, the Orangery of the Villa Reale in Monza is home to the exhibition "I Macchiaioli and the invention of plein air between France and Italy," which traces the events of one of the most important artistic movements on the Italian cultural scene, which developed in the second half of the 19th century. The exhibition, curated by Simona Bartolena, produced and realised by ViDi cultural, in collaboration with the Consorzio Villa Reale e Parco di Monza and the Municipality of Monza, focuses on the technical innovations that the fathers of plein air art developed with regard to the theme of landscape, genre and historical painting.
The exhibition presents 90 works by artists such as Telemaco Signorini, Giovanni Fattori, Giuseppe Abbati, Silvestro Lega, Vincenzo Cabianca, Raffaello Sernesi, and Odoardo Borrani.

To obtain the discount, a valid IO VIAGGIO Trenord card, (with an ID), must be presented at the Exhibition ticket office, Reggia di Monza - Orangery in Viale Brianza, 1, Monza The promotion cannot be combined with other concessions. Access to the exhibition will be regulated according to current anti-Covid19 regulations. There is no reservation required.
