Reservation for groups of at least 3 people with bicycles on weekends
To book their "bike space" on the weekend, groups must write to the address firstname.lastname@example.org at least 5 days before the scheduled travel date, communicating your route preferences. The Groups Office will identify the best travel solution and book the required bike spaces, sending confirmation via email. The presence of the group of cyclists will be communicated to the on-board staff, who will support cyclists in getting on and off and will guide them in placing the bicycles in suitable areas of the carriages.
The reservation will not correspond to the purchase of the travel ticket, which cyclists must independently purchase - for themselves and for the bicycle - at the stations through ticket offices, Trenord authorized dealers and vending machines or online through the Trenord App and on trenord.it website
How to get there
It is possible to reach MANTOVA using the trains of the Mantova-Cremona-Lodi-Milano line.
Mantova-Peschiera Cycle lane[45 km]
It is the most famous cycle path in the area and connects Mantova with Peschiera del Garda (42km) following, for a large part of its route, the Mincio river. It is all paved, flat and in its own place and along the way it is possible to visit naturalistic jewels such as Bosco Fontana (8km from Mantua), Bertone Park (16km from Mantua) or the Sigurtà Garden Park (33km from Mantova), historic villages such as Borghetto (32km from Mantova), Monzambano (37km from Mantua) or Volta Mantovana (28km from Mantova) or particular places such as the ancient ice house of the Conti Custoza in Marengo (16km from Mantova).
Cycle path basso Mincio
Following the course of the Mincio river south of the city, you pass the Vallazza Nature Reserve and the Forcello Archaeological Park until you reach Governolo after about 30km where the Mincio plunges into the Po.
Ad hoc ideas
At the time of rental, Mantovabikexperience staff is available to recommend the best itineraries to discover the Mincio Park, a protected nature reserve in the Lombardy Region. The itineraries develop around the lakes of Mantova, with the possibility of combining other routes (from 7 to 35km and an average duration of 2/3 hours). It is a way to quickly but comprehensively discover the naturalistic part of Mantova, which is located a few steps from the center of Mantova and, on the same day, it is therefore possible to visit the historic center of Mantova. Nature, History and Art within everyone's reach, in the city classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The bike tour can be combined with a boat excursion in the heart of the Mincio Valleys, departing from Grazie, an ancient fishing village, which is part of the most beautiful villages in Italy, famous for its beautiful Sanctuary, which is 8 km from Mantova, all on a cycle path. Another naturalistic pearl is Bosco Fontana, one of the last examples of lowland forest left in Lombardia; it is about 8 km from Bicigrill, all on a cycle path.
