Pinacoteca Ambrosiana e Cripta di San Sepolcro

The Ambrosiana is a treasure chest that contains a Library, a Picture Gallery and an Academy: a reality that for 400 years, in the centre of the city of Milan on the remains of the ancient Roman forum, has promoted the love of literature, the arts, science and beauty. The Pinacoteca Ambrosiana is Milan's first public museum and was established in April 1618, when Cardinal Federico Borromeo donated his collection of paintings, statues and drawings to the Biblioteca Ambrosiana, which he founded in 1607. The Pinacoteca's exhibition itinerary, divided into 24 rooms, features some of the most extraordinary masterpieces of all time, such as Leonardo's Musico, Caravaggio's Basket of Fruit, Raphael's Preparatory Cartoon for the School of Athens, Titian's Adoration of the Magi, Botticelli's Madonna of the Pavilion and Jan Brueghel's marvellous Flower Vases. The tour ends in the Library's ancient reading room, which houses the permanent exhibition of the Codex Atlanticus, the world's largest collection of Leonardo da Vinci's autograph writings and drawings.

The Crypt of San Sepolcro

The underground church of San Sepolcro tells a one thousand-year history that has its roots even before its founding in the year 1030 and intersects with events involving figures such as Leonardo and San Carlo Borromeo. Walking over marble slabs from the ancient Roman forum, archaeological traces of which are preserved in the Ambrosiana, we arrive at the magnificent 14th century frescoes rediscovered after recent restoration.

The promotion, which cannot be combined with other concessions, is valid for the purchase of 2 discounted tickets usable on the same day by the pass holder and one accompanying person. The IO VIAGGIO card must be presented to obtain the discount. Valid Trenord pass (with ID) at the ticket offices of the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana (Piazza Pio XI, 2) or the Crypt of San Sepolcro (Piazza San Sepolcro).
