Centenario Giovanni Testori

Celebrating the “Giovanni Testori Centenary” one hundred years after Testori’s birth: an event organised and curated by the Giovanni Testori Association together with the Casa Testori Association, which manages his birthplace in Novate Milanese, now a cultural centre and venue for meetings and exhibitions. A rich schedule of cultural initiatives, theatre performances, exhibitions and events, running until May 2024, to promote the figure and literary work of Giovanni Testori, in Novate Milanese, in Milan and in other Italian cities.

Trenord is also taking part in the Centenary programme to commemorate the “writer-commuter”, the great narrator of the Milan crossed by the tracks of the Ferrovienord, who for years travelled around Lombardy on trains, and his strong bond with the train. Two initiatives are planned for 2023, with details coming soon: special runs between Milano Cadorna and Novate Milanese, with dramatised readings of texts from the works by Giovanni Testori (Testori Train); on board readings of excerpts from the author’s works, chosen by travellers on some regular runs, with the participation of young actors.

Throughout the year for Trenord pass holders there will also be discounts for guided tours and exhibitions at Casa Testori and for some performances included in the Centenary programme taking place in various theatres around Milan.

Trenord pass holders with an IO VIAGGIO card are entitled to:

maximum 2 admissions with guided tour of Casa Testori and related exhibitions (in Casa Testori and elsewhere) with 20% discount;
20% discount on all purchases made at the Bookshop in Casa Testori;
Up to 50% discount for a maximum of two tickets to some theatre performances included in the Centenary programme, as detailed in the table.

HOW TO GET THE DISCOUNT

The promotion, which cannot be combined with other concessions, is valid for the purchase of a maximum two guided tours of Casa Testori and related exhibitions, discounted purchases at the Bookshop in Casa Testori, and the purchase of maximum two tickets for the indicated theatre performances included in the Centenary programme, on the same day, by the pass holder and - if desired - a companion.

To get the discount for the guided tours/exhibitions in Casa Testori, for oneself and for a possible companion, the Trenord pass holder must book by calling the number 0236586877 or by writing to eventi@casatestori.it, selecting the time and date for the tour from those published on the website www.casatestori.it; payment for the tour can be made online on the website www.casatestori.it, in the section “Guided Tours” and entering the promotional code “TESTORI100”, for up to a maximum of two tickets; or, at the ticket office of Casa Testori (Largo A. Testori 13 in Novate Milanese) on the day of the tour, showing one’s valid IO VIAGGIO card.

To get the discount on purchases at the Bookshop in Casa Testori, the Trenord pass holder must show their valid IO VIAGGIO card at the time of purchase, requesting that the discount also cover their companion’s purchases, if desired.

To get the discount on maximum two tickets to the theatre performances included in the promotion, the Trenord pass holder must show their valid IO VIAGGIO card at the box office of Franco Parenti, Out Off and Oscar theatres in Milan; or, and only for the theatres that allow it, purchase online a maximum of two tickets on the theatre’s website, entering the promotional code indicated in the table.
