LECCO
CASA_MANZONILecco is located in a natural setting of rare beauty. An enchanting place where famous people such as Leonardo da Vinci and Giuseppe Parini lived part of their lives and found inspiration. Alessandro Manzoni set his masterpiece "The Betrothed" here. The Lecco branch, Lake Como, and the rocky walls of Mount S. Martino and Mount Barro, with the Resegone and the Grigne, are the backdrop to a town ennobled by baroque and neoclassical monuments, such as the Society Theatre, designed by the architect Bovara in the nineteenth century, and the Palazzo delle Paure and Palazzo Belgioioso, the seat of the civic museums. And after a visit to the lakeside town, Lecco is the starting point for fantastic trips on the lake, discovering historic villas and sumptuous palaces.

The Roman, Longobardi, Hapsburg, and Napoleonic regimes that occupied it left precious legacies such as the Royal Villa of Monza, a sumptuous neoclassical palace and private residence of the Habsburgs. It is a city of culture and art, good food, and sports. The Monza Formula 1 Grand Prix is an internationally renowned sporting event. Monza is also famous for its park, one of the largest in Europe and of enormous historical, natural, and artistic value, where culture and relaxation meet among villas, nineteenth century farmhouses, meadows, and wooded areas.

SONDRIO

CASTEL_MASEGRALeaving Monza and Lecco behind, we arrive in Sondrio, a Lombardy town in the heart of Valtellina. The old town, located along Via Scarpatetti, is an ancient village characterized by stone houses with wooden balconies typical of the most beautiful mountain cities. Strolling through the city, one is fascinated by the architectures of the Lagarian Tower and the many historical buildings such as Palazzo Carbonera, Castel Masegra, and Palazzo Pretorio, the seat of the municipality. To conclude, a stop in a crotto or in a typical restaurant is a must in order to savour a plate of Pizzoccheri accompanied by a glass of Sassella or Inferno, two of the sublime Valtellina reds.
